LEXINGTON, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Indoor Track & Field Teams got the spring portion of its season started on Saturday at the VMI Team Challenge. The men's team finished seventh out of 11 schools with two new school records while the women's squad broke three program marks on their way to a 12th-place finish.

Top Men's Performances
- Freshman Will Humphrey, II (Charlotte, N.C.) set the school record in the 60 meters with a time of 6.90 seconds in both the preliminaries and the finals to finish third.
- Freshman Jackson Swanson (Salem, Va.) was sixth in the 60 with a time of 7.50 seconds and eighth in the 200 meters (:23.19). Freshman Hillis Roberson, IV (Rosenburg, Texas) claimed eighth in the 400 meters while freshman Gavin Kegler (Woodbridge, Va.) was ninth at :52.54 and :52.55, respectively.
- Sophomore Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) claimed 10th in the 3,000 meters, stopping the watches in 9:15.95.
- The 4x400 meter relay saw sophomore Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.), freshman Heath Bowker (Salem, Va.) Kegler and Roberson take fourth in 3:35.46.
- Sophomore Tyrique Taylor (Christiansburg, Va.) placed fourth in the shot put (14.34m) and fifth in the weight throw (12.79m).
- Freshman Drew Craft (Covington, Va.) jumped 6.32 meters in the long jump to break the school record and take ninth and was also 10th in the triple jump at 12.70 meters. Junior Zadok Laryea (Ruther Glen, Va.) also placed ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.85 meters.
Women's Top Performances
- Sophomore Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) was the runner-up in the mile run with a school record time of 5:14.88 while freshman McKenzie Tate (Wytheville, Va.) set a new record in the 400 meters at 1:02.81, placing eighth.
- Sophomore Scarlett Eversley (Dumfries, Va.) turned in a time of 9.55 seconds in the 60 meter hurdles preliminaries for a new E&H best and ran a 9.83 in the finals to place sixth. She was also eighth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.97 meters.
- Sophomore Taylorann Cash (Buena Vista, Va.) had a throw of 10.40 meters in the shot put to place seventh.
